User Research, Styling concepts, Industrial Design
Your destination for 'No-frills' Product Design & Development.

PDD focus areas
Completely new concept, or a range, of a client without precedence- New Product Design & Development
Competition Survey, Differentiators to ensure the success of the new product launch
Aesthetic/Performance upgrade
Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Integration
Up-gradation of existing products through rationalization of different subsystems
Re-engineering products & rectification of functionality defects/eliminate customer field complaints (Quality improvement through robust & lean design methodologies.
Value engineering of inefficient designs through revised materials, manufacturing & assembly methods
Vendor development
Limited volume manufacture & supply coordination for clients not having in-house competence/experience in the downstream integration activities.
Differentiators PDD can execute a product design solution by judicious integration of aesthetics, mechanical, electrical/electronics systems & derive a robust & feasible outcome. The foundation of our approach lies in smart deployment of various materials, processes & technologies towards simplified, optimized & sensible designs.
Competition Survey, User research & survey, Preliminary Concepts exploration
This is a critical stage which defines the final outcome by capturing user needs, expectations, benchmarking competitors, future trends, cost efficiency, usability, & successful introduction into the market
Aesthetic Styling, Visual Harmony, Color, Materials, Finish,
Styling defines a product's character for a given context, but what is developed beyond the skin & initial visuals determine whether the product can be successfully introduced into the market. Minimal complexity of architecture, modularity, smart use of materials, are critical in the initial definition stage. The design out has to be in line with an existing brand language if any, or the exercise should include a complete redefinition of the range so that there is no odd looking product in the range.
What we actually do
Ergonomics & human factors- UX, UI, HCI
A product design is incomplete if it does not factor what a human is capable of be it the physical reach, loads, posture, stereotypes, emotions & local sentiments & emotions. An exhaustive consideration of these factors ensure that the product is delghtful to use & to interact with. This is the UX & UI of a physical product just as iimportant as the visual UX, UI, & the HCI of the graphics product desiign. The design team has to iron out these issues in the same design methodology of Define, User Research, Low fidelity wireframe prototypes/mockups, Testing, Iteration/s & launch for production.
Color Material Finish specification
Although some initial exploration of the color, material & finishes are touched upon in the concept exploraion stage, this stage puts all the final choices in the form of color codes, material grades, textures which accentuate the visual impact & feeling of the product to the users. These have high degree of emotinal qutient & are gender, culture & geography sensistive.
